There Goes The Neighborhood

When the explorers came to the Americas, the natives felt a mix of emotions. They might have felt fear, happiness, excitement, or dread. The natives probably did not know what to think or feel when they saw the explorers arriving. The explorers were so much different from them. The explorers looked different, talked different, they had more advanced technology, and a lot more wealth. Some of the natives would have thought of the explorers as divine beings, others would have seen them as enemies. The natives would have been in awe looking at the explorers, their elegant clothes, their weapons, and ships. the explorers would have looked like aliens from an advanced civilization somewhere else in the universe. Unfortunately, the natives did not know the destruction the explorers would bring. Disease and loss of land became huge problems. In modern times, some natives have integrated into our society and some have stayed in reservations and hold on strongly to their culture from centuries ago.

  2. nice! This really sums up what the Native Americans interpretation was of the Americas. I also really enjoyed how you tied the Natives in with todays society at the end.
